That's a nice early one too! Note that it is missing the little round yellow "supertuner" logo that would be found on the tape door of the later models. Somewhere around here i have the 8-track version of that deck, the TP-900.i loved those super tuner pioneers. and the antitheft bracket. i see you still have the loudness switched on alan.

i remember one christmas in the 90s, my boss (an old cuban guy) had me repair his 8 track player and his favorite elvis chrismas tape. spent two days of shop time just fixing the tape. had to take it apart and fix a bad part in the tape. i cut and spliced it till there was only one verse missing. and they never missed it. plus i had to iron out about three feet of wrinkled tape that got sucked into the player. he was so happy, not so much his wife

I remember a few coming unraveled. Couldn't fit the tape back in.
I used to make a few bucks repairing Echoplex tapes with blank 8 track tape scavenged.
